Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that injured Olivier Giroud is set to return to training next week, hinting that he may even take part against Manchester United the following weekend, Metro reports.
The 28-year-old striker suffered a broken foot in August and was said to only be available at the start of next year, but could return a lot sooner than expected.
With Wenger revealing that Giroud would be back in training, it will give him a further two weeks of recovery before they face United due to the upcoming international break.
In regards to this weekend’s clash with Swansea City, the French manager also stated that Jack Wilshere, who suffered an illness in midweek, is fully fit to return to action, although defensively, they are still with Laurent Koscielny.
“Koscielny has a little chance to be back after the international break.”
“Debuchy, Ospina and Ozil are progressing very well, but of course they are not available before or straight after the international break.”
