Chelsea star Diego Costa is determined to take part in his team’s opening Premier League match against Swansea City tomorrow, according to reports from the Express.
The 26-year-old has already missed a number of preseason fixtures after he was unable to shake off a hamstring problem that has affected him ever since the previous season.
Despite manager Jose Mourinho revealing that he doesn’t know when his star striker will return to full fitness, the Spain international is feeling confident after taking an extend rest.
He was unable to help his side during the 1-0 Community Shield loss at the hands of rivals Arsenal and also missed the defeat to Serie A side Fiorentina with the same scoreline.
Should the former Atletico Madrid man fail to return to full fitness, Mourinho will still have options with Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy both available.
Costa was the main striker for the Blues last term, featuring in 26 Premier League matches while finding the back of the net a total of 20 times.
