Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois has come out to ensure that he is doing fine after undergoing surgery to fix an injury to his knee, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 23-year-old underwent the procedure about a week ago and will now have to begin his rehabilitation period as he is expected to miss up to three months of action.
He tore his meniscus in his right knee during a training session ahead of his team’s match against Everton earlier this month.
The goalkeeper posted a picture showing his recovery along with a message stating that he is doing well while thanking the fans for their support.
“Since 1 week started my rehabilitation. Everything is going very well on the moment! Thanks for you support!” he said.
With the Belgium international out of action until mid December, summer signing Asmir Begovic is expected to continue his usual role between the sticks.
The Blues are also considering a move to sign out-of-favour Manchester United star Victor Valdes as another backup should Begovic become unavailable before Courtois’ return.
