Chelsea look to be boosted by news that Diego Costa could be fit to face Queens Park Rangers this coming weekend after already missing the club’s last three matches, Daily Star reports.
The 26-year-old was also believed to have been hit with a virus, but Jose Mourinho revealed that it wasn’t the reason he missed the vital clash with Manchester United.
“The virus is fine,” he said. “It was hard when he went to hospital and obviously it doesn’t help to recover from the injury.
“But he didn’t travel to Old Trafford because of the injury, not because of the virus.
“He aggravated the hamstrings because he played two matches in three days … and was not with us.
“QPR…one week more, I hope so.”
Mourinho however, admitted to not knowing exactly when his top scorer will return to full fitness, pointing his fingers at the Spanish national team as he believes that they didn’t monitor his situation before choosing him to lead the lines for his country.
