Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge has suggested that he hopes to return to full fitness when his side face Crystal Palace two weeks from now after sitting out of England’s upcoming fixtures in the international break, Daily Mail reports.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a thigh injury and has only featured for Brendan Rodgers three times this season following a very impressive previous campaign.
Sturridge revealed his intentions to recover in time for the upcoming clash against Palace in two weeks time as the squad will be boosted with his return after struggling to find the net lately.
He said: “I’ll be ready for that one, God willing,”
With the upcoming international break this weekend, Roy Hodgson has left the England striker out as he considers to wait on Rodgers to declare his star man fit before recalling him again.
“I was waiting to see what the situation would be with him (Sturridge). It’s very good news to hear that he’s travelled but of course before I select him again I would check with the player and the club that we were doing the right thing.”
