Manchester United have received a welcomed boost with the news that Luke Shaw has recovered from an ankle injury he sustained against Yeovil Town, Telegraph reports.
The Red Devils currently have a crisis in defence, with side-backs Antonio Valencia, Rafael, Ashley Young, and Shaw all suffering with injuries.
However it seems Shaw has recovered from the knock and could be available to face former club Southampton this weekend.
The 19-year-old was replaced at half-time during the FA Cup tie against Yeovil due to a reoccurring ankle problem that has kept him out six weeks before the New Year.
But it seems that manager Louis van Gaal subbed him off as a precaution, and that tests have revealed there is no major damage to his ankle ligaments.
Van Gaal will be sweating over the £32million summer signing’s availability, with no senior left-back to call on for the visit of the Saints on Sunday.
Shaw has only featured 10 times this season, and will be hoping to have an injury free second-half of the campaign.
