Arsenal have been boosted by news that Jack Wilshere is well on his road to recovery and could make a playing return this season, Mirror reports.
The 24-year-old has been ruled out for six-months due to a hairline fracture in his left fibula, but the midfielder is already eyeing a return ahead of schedule.
He revealed that his rehabilitation is going really well as he looks to slowly gain back his fitness before eventually being able to feature for the first team.
“[My recovery is] going well,” he said.
“I’m back on the pitch and I’m just trying to build my fitness up because everyone knows how tough it is to play in the Premier League.
“I’m working on it and I’m slowly getting there.”
Manager Arsene Wenger has been struggling with his team selection due to a host of injuries and will be hoping Wilshere can make a swift recovery.
The Gunners are currently fourth on the Premier League table, level on points with third place Tottenham Hotspur with 45 points, but are five behind Leicester City in first.
He is yet to feature in a single league game this season, but managed to register 14 appearances last term, scoring two while providing another one assist.
