Inter join Tottenham in race for 21-goal Argentinian striker

Inter Milan have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race for ex-Boca Juniors star Jonathan Calleri, according to reports from the Mirror.

Calleri has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham the past few weeks, with the Argentine currently playing on loan at Sao Paulo this season.

The striker, who is 22 years of age, fits the current profile of a Spurs target, with Mauricio Pochettino a big fan of developing younger talent.

However, the Lilywhites have been joined by Serie A giants Inter, who have already held talks with him in regards to a move to Italy at the end of the campaign.

Boca sold Calleri to Club Deportivo Maldonado in January but was immediately sent out on loan to Brazil, meaning any interested parties may have to wait until December if he was to make a switch.

Last season for Boca Juniors, Calleri made 53 appearances in all competitions , scoring 21 goals and supplying seven assists.
