Inter Milan look to have secured the loan signing of Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva after fellow Serie A outfit Napoli dropped out of the race for the midfielder, that is according to the Daily Star.
Leiva has found himself down Brendan Rodgers’ pecking order this season, despite making 108 starts for the Reds in the top flight of English football during the previous four campaigns.
Speculation has surrounded the 27-year-old for sometime now, with the Brazilian international speaking to Show de Esportes when saying:
“Everyone knows Napoli came after me over the summer, but at this moment they have showed no concrete interest in me,”
“My future? At the moment all I know is that I won’t return to Gremio.”
New Inter gaffer Roberto Mancini hopes to bring Lucas in as soon as the window opens with a view to a permanent move in the summer being suggested.
