Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has dismissed the chance of star man Gonzalo Higuain leaving Naples this summer, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Argentine striker is set to lead the line for his country tonight in the World Cup final against Germany in Sao Paulo.
Higuain scored a beauty to help Argentina through to the semi-final and then caused problems for the Netherlands as a penalty shoot-out victory saw them through to the final.
Arsenal saw Higuain turn down a move to North London last summer but were hoping to sneak in again this time around for Arsene Wenger’s long term target.
De Laurentiis has praised all of his World Cup stars but believes Higuain will be the main man as Argentina lift the trophy this evening.
“I’d say that Higuain is not to be taken. He’s ours and we keep him. Also because in his contract there is a release clause of €100m.”
He added: “He’s our pride, he’s in the World Cup final and he will score against Germany.
“In the Argentina team there are three Napoli players; at the beginning of the World Cup, in all teams there were 16.
“I say to supporters: what more do you want?”
