Italy boss in London to finalize Chelsea terms ahead of summer switch

Italy national team boss Antonio Conte was in London to finalize terms ahead of his move to Chelsea, according to report from the Mirror.

Conte has been heavily linked with the Blues job the past few weeks, with the former Juventus manager supposedly agreeing to join the Premier League champions after the European Championships this summer.

However, despite a verbal agreement, Conte still needs to outline the terms on paper.

Guus Hiddink took over the Chelsea helm when Jose Mourinho was controversially sacked back in December, but the Dutchman is only an interim until the arrival of a new long-term successor.

The likes of current Juve gaffer Massimiliano Allegri and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone were also being considered for the role, but both stayed committed to their respective clubs.

After a torrid start to the campaign, Chelsea have slowly climbed up the table to 10th, and now have a slight chance of making it into Europe next season, albeit in the Europa League.
