Goalkeeper David James has provided new Portsmouth boss Avram Grant with a major fillip after making a quicker than expected recovery from injury.
The evergreen England international was originally expected to be sidelined for four weeks with a calf injury picked up warm-up before the defeat at Stoke City last month.
However, Grant has revealed some good news with James' revised recovery time.
"David James' recovery is much quicker than we thought because he's professional and working every hour of the day, doing his best to be fit, and his progress is much better than we thought," he said.
"We thought initially it would be four weeks, but it will be a lot less."
James, who has sat out the last three games, is unlikely to return in time to face Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
