As reported by The Daily Mail, Joe Garner has revealed the key difference between the Rangers team under Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha.
Rangers won a dramatic match against Partick Thistle on Sunday, scoring in the dying seconds of stoppage time to overcome the Jags.
Now the man who nodded that goal home has lifted the lid on what’s changed between Mark Warburton’s Rangers and Pedro Caixinha’s.
Joe Garner hasn’t had the best of seasons in a Light Blue shirt but is now hopeful the squad’s fortunes can turn around next season.
As quoted by The Daily Mail, Garner said:
The gaffer and his ways are a little bit different from the old gaffer and I think it’s going to take a little bit of time to adjust for all the lads. I think we will be a little bit fitter next year than we have been. It will take a bit of time to buy into what he wants. It is a little bit of change for everyone at the club. But we look forward to it.
Caixinha is looking for a new, more aggressive Rangers that close teams down and try to win the ball back immediately and if he can improve the fitness of the squad from the Warburton days then it would certainly go a long way to achieving that.
The perception of Garner’s season in the support has not been kind but goals like the one against Thistle will undoubtedly change that. Can Caixinha turn him into the player that fans thought they were getting last summer?
