Speaking to German outlet Sport1, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has dropped a big hint that Philippe Coutinho could be in line for a return to his Liverpool squad after this summer's transfer saga.

What's the story?

Coutinho was the subject of significant interest from Barcelona this summer, with the player even handing in a transfer request.

The two clubs have been subsequently getting into a war of words regarding the potential transfer. Barcelona claim the Reds set their asking price at £183m, while Liverpool deny he was ever for sale at any price.

Regardless of the details, the entire saga has meant the Brazilian has been unsettled at Anfield and he's yet to feature for the Anfield club this season. That could be about to change though with Klopp believing he still has a quality player who can feature for his team.

Speaking to Sport1, the Liverpool manager said:

We still have a really good player in the squad who can play. Don’t believe everything in the press or that there are offers here and there and that the minute after the offer has been entered, it should already be over. We are not like George Orwell where everybody knows everything immediately. We have exactly the situation we wanted and no other.

It seems then that there is no issue on the German's part regarding all of this and with Philippe Coutinho featuring for Brazil in this week's international action, the player himself also appears fit and ready to play.

Will we see him return to the Liverpool squad for the big visit to Manchester City on Saturday?
