Kenny Dalglish has been relieved of his managerial duties at Liverpool football club.
Poor league form appears to have contributed to FSG’s decision to remove Kenny Dalglish, despite the Scot taking Liverpool to two cup finals and a return to European football, via the Europa League.
FSG stressed that the decision to remove Dalglish was not done lightly but just felt that given the poor showing in the Premier League that a change was needed:
“After a careful and deliberative review of the season, the club came to the decision that a change was appropriate,”
“Results in the Premier League have been disappointing and we believe to build on the progress that has already been made, we need to make a change.”
Kenny Dalglish was naturally disappointed but wanted to stress that his departure had been handled in a “honourable, respectful and dignified way”. BBC
