Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is really happy with this team after they snatched three points in a dramatic last-gasp 5-4 win over Norwich.
The game looked destined for a draw after Sebastian Bassong’s late equaliser made it 4-4, but Adam Lallana pounced in injury time to send the visiting fans into rapture.
Liverpool lost their previous game 1-0 to an opportunistic Manchester United and as such it was important for the Reds to get back to winning ways at Carrow Road.
Klopp admitted in the aftermath of the game that he was ecstatic with how the game concluded.
“In the end we can be really happy with nearly everything – especially with the three points. A draw would have been deserved for both teams,” he told the club’s official website.
“We needed the last moment to get it [the win], but a few days ago we lost a game we shouldn’t have against Manchester United, so today we took something back and that’s OK.
“It was spectacular, wild, good football, and both teams had good moments. The start was not good, but then the first half was good after 15 minutes but we didn’t score the second goal.
“We conceded two after set-plays and then they got a third one directly after half-time, but then we started playing football and it was impressive.”
The result moves Liverpool up to seventh place but the Reds remain eight points adrift of the top four.
Klopp’s men take on Stoke City in the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-finals in midweek, before hosting West Ham in the FA Cup next weekend.
