Real Madrid’s Isco has played down talks of a potential switch to both Liverpool and Arsenal, amongst others who are currently trying to lure the Spanish star with intentions for a larger role, Daily Star reports.
The 22-year-old is mainly used as back-up to the already star-studded squad, mostly in place of newest £63million addition James Rodriguez, hence his very limited playing time.
Brendan Rodgers was believed to be trying to bring him to Anfield as he tipped the Madrid man to be the ideal candidate to one day replace club legend Steven Gerrard.
Arsene Wenger was also monitoring his situation during the summer, but Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti refused to negotiate anything as he saw him as a vital member of the team.
Isco also commented on the speculation that he could be on the way out given his limited role at the Santiago Bernabeu by admitted that he is relishing the opportunity to fight for his place.
“Like all players, I want to play but I am ready to be in the team whenever the coach wants.
“I’m playing very little and hope to play more. Last year was amazing, winning titles, and I am very happy at Real Madrid.”
