David Moyes claimed Everton deserved to take all three points from Saturday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Toffees had twice led against the in-form home side courtesy of goals from Leon Osman and Steven Pienaar.
However, Arsenal fought back on both occasions and a deflected Tomas Rosicky injury-time strike earned his side a share of the spoils which Moyes claimed was not deserved.
"As a manager I am proud of our performance today," he told the club's official website.
"But if you want to win cup finals or be at the top of the league you have got to be ruthless to get what you want – and at the moment we are not being that.
"To come to Arsenal and play as well as we did – enjoy the passing, play well and have opportunities – I think we deserved a win.
"Our performance merited more than the one point but we didn't get it.
"If we had got the three points today it might have propelled us back into the business end of the league which is where we want to be."
