Italian club Lazio have confirmed that they are hoping to snap up out-of-favour Manchester city striker Roque Santa Cruz.
The 29-year-old Paraguay international joined the Citizens a year ago from Blackburn Rovers, but has since scored four goals in 22 appearances, only seven of which have been starts.
Santa Cruz's agent, Jan Van Baal, confirmed:"I understand that there have been meetings between Manchester City and Lazio's officials for the transfer of Santa Cruz.
"I have been informed about the real interest of Lazio. At this moment I can say that there are 50 per cent possibility that the transfer can be done.
"This proposal is official and according to what I have been informed Lazio would be offering six million euros."
Lazio head coach Edy Reja had earlier told La Repubblica: "He is one of the players we are interested in and we are evaluating. There are two or three alternatives too."
