Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez could leave Old Trafford this month as Lazio prepare a deal to sign the out-of-favour Mexican, the Daily Star reports.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Real Madrid, but the European Champions have recently ruled out the possibility of sealing a permanent move for his services.
Lazio are now leading the race for his signature as Louis van Gaal is said to have no place for the poacher in his plans for the club.
He only has one year left on his current United deal and is likely to be sold after struggling to impress in his previous season, prompting the Dutch manager to offload him upon his arrival.
Despite moving to Spain, he has had very little chances to make an impact due to the fact that he is often introduced as a late substitute.
Arsenal, Liverpool, and Juventus, have also been linked with the striker in the past and should the Red Devils be open to his departure, the interested parties could once again jump back at the chance to lure him away.
