Leeds United are confident of keeping young goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell, despite interest from Premier League clubs, HITC reports.
The 19-year-old is adjudged as a rising talent at the Elland Road club and was handed his debut for the Yorkshire club this week.
With first-choice custodian Marco Silvestri suspended, Peacock-Farrell got his opportunity to shine against QPR on Tuesday and impressed in a 1-1 draw.
However, the teenager’s contract expires this summer and The Daily Star have reported recently that both Everton and Aston Villa have been keeping tabs on the stopper.
Despite this, an insider at Leeds has told HITC that there is a feeling that Peacock-Bailey could extend his deal with the Championship club.
“Bailey is a huge talent, everyone at the club is aware of it but there is just three months until his contract expires so there is a real sense of urgency to finalise a deal for him, but confidence is high that he will soon put pen-to-paper,” he said.
With Silvestri rumoured to be heading towards the Elland Road exit door, the 19-year-old could well be in line to be Leeds’ number one next season if he was to renew terms with the club.
