Neil Warnock believes Leeds would have gone on to beat Ipswich on Saturday had it not been for Tom Lees’ “stupid” red card.
The defeat at Portman Road all but ended any hopes the Whites had of reaching the play-offs this season, Leeds having been reduced to 10-men just after the half hour mark when Lees caught Jay Tabb with a high tackle.
Warnock, who has said he will leave Leeds if they aren’t promoted this season, claimed his team would have gone on to win the game had it not been for Lees’ red card, hitting out at the defender.
“We’ve got one lad who’s let everyone down. He’s let me down, the team down and the fans who travelled here,” said Warnock. “It was one stupid moment.
“I don’t know what else I can say, other than it was a ridiculous tackle.
“It’s difficult doing a press conference when you think you should have won three or 4-0 and you’ve lost 3-0.”
