Legal action over proposed transfer move to Manchester United

He's not the messiah

Mesut Ozil’s father is to press ahead with legal action against a fraudster who offered the midfielder to Manchester United in the summer, according to the Metro.

Ozil – who went on to sign for Arsenal for £42.5million on transfer deadline day – was reportedly offered to Manchester United in writing on August 7th.

But the players father and agent Mustafa Ozil, has claimed the offer was made by an imposter.

‘I would have never deemed it possible what some dodgy people venture to do,’ Ozil Sr said.

‘Someone wanted to make contact with Manchester in my name and even signed with my name. That is no trivial offence. We will get to the bottom of it.’

Agent Francois Gallardo has since claimed Ozil Sr had offered his son around every top European club during the summer, another claim that has upset the German midfielder’s father.

‘As you can see, that’s wrong. You don’t need to offer a player of Mesut’s class to any club in the world,’ he said.

Ozil has made a superb start to life in the Premier League since his club record signing on deadline day.

The German has started two Premier League games, both of which have resulted in 3-1 wins.

His home debut against Stoke City last Sunday saw him grab the headlines as he assisted all three Arsenal goals.
