Leicester City star Kasper Schmeichel has confirmed that he did not pick up an injury while on international duty with Denmark ahead of their title run-in, according to reports from talkSPORT.
Schmeichel has been in spectacular form for the Foxes this term, helping Leicester to an unlikely Premier League title challenge with just seven games left in the campaign.
However, the goalkeeper was withdrawn from training with the Danish national team just 20 minutes into the session, and there were fears that he has injured his hamstring ahead of their clash against Southampton this weekend.
But the 29-year-old has quickly come out to calm fans in regards to the speculation, revealing that he only left the Denmark squad as a precaution.
He Tweeted: “Just to confirm: I have NOT withdrawn from the Denmark squad and I have NOT hurt my hamstring. I left training today (Sunday) as a precaution.”
This will be welcome news to manager Claudio Ranieri, who is extremely close to completing one of the biggest shocks in English football history.
Leicester are currently five points clear at the top of the table, with Tottenham Hotspur behind them in second.
