Martis is a free agent after leaving Dutch club Feyernoord, and was with the Foxes earlier this summer, featuring in a pre-season friendly against Chesterfield whilst on trial. The 20-year-old also had trials with Oldham and more notably Manchester United, who all made offers for him:
“I went into Leicester for a day and felt comfortable and got an offer,” he said.
“Then I went into Manchester United for a week and received good feedback from Warren Joyce and could have earned a deal had I waited, but I just want to get my career started.”
Despite the possibilities to move to Old Trafford, Martis looks set to sign a three-year deal with the Premier League champions, and work with the Foxes academy.
Claudio Ranieri has already been busy in the transfer window this summer, adding in star names such as Ahmed Musa to not only defend their Premier League crown, but also feature in the UEFA Champions League.
And it hasn’t just been new players that are important, with the Foxes securing new deals for Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, with the Algerian signing a new 4-year-deal on Wednesday evening.
