Leicester defender closing in on Championship swtich

Reading are closing in on Leicester City’s Liam Moore, according to Get Reading.

The Foxes youngster has been heavily linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium this summer, and Reading assistant boss Andries Ulderink has confirmed the Royals are making strides in their pursuit of the Premier League defender:

“We have some contacts about Liam Moore so hopefully that will take place. We think he is a defender who can help us out.” Said Ulderink.

Moore spent last season on loan at Bristol City, where he made 10 Championship appearances. He had featured in 11 Leicester fixtures 2 seasons ago, when the club narrowly avoided relegation, but has never played a Premier League match under Claudio Ranieri.

And it seems things won’t change, with the Italian happy to lose the 23-year-old, as he prepares his team for their defence of their Premier League crown.

The Foxes had a sensational pairing between Wes Morgan and Robert Huth last season, and with Ranieri strengthening his defence in the transfer window, Moore may well have played his last game for the Midlands side.
