Leicester City are intent on not letting Danny Drinkwater leave the club to join Premier League rivals Manchester United but will demand that Morgan Schneiderlin in part of any deal if it does happen, according to The Mirror.
The England international was an essential member of the Foxes side that stunned the football world to become shock English champions in 2015-16.
Drinkwater is a former United youth player but left Old Trafford after not being afforded an opportunity to shine in the Premier League for his boyhood club.
A report in The Sun last week suggested that Jose Mourinho could turn to the Leicester star to solve his midfield problems and that Drinkwater would be an ideal boiler room partner for Paul Pogba.
However, should United want to land their man, parting with Schneiderlin could well be necessary if the latest report is to be believed.
The France international has been on the fringes of first-team action at Old Trafford since Mourinho’s arrival.
