Leicester City have been dealt a slight blow after star striker Jamie Vardy is set to undergo minor surgery, Skysports reports.
The 28-year-old has been on sensational form this season, so far scoring 15 goals in 20 league appearances to date.
Vardy is expected to undergo the operation later today as he looks to fix a groin problem that has halted his amazing form.
He has struggled with a number of injuries this term, including a wrist and ankle problem, but still opted to play through the pain on multiple occasions.
The striker will now be unable to feature for about 10 days, meaning he will be sidelined for the FA Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur, but should be back in contention for the upcoming round of Premier League fixtures.
His side will face Tottenham again in the league following their FA Cup clash as he looks to get back to his scoring best.
He is now joint-first with Everton star Romelu Lukaku in the league’s top scorers chart with the pair so far scoring 15 goals each.
