Manchester City and England defender Joleon Lescott is set for at least a month on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.
The 27-year-old centre-back suffered the injury during the warm-up for Sunday's 2-1 victory at Fulham and was forced to miss the game against the Cottagers as a result.
Subsequent scans have shown a slight tear to his hamstring and he now faces a race to be fully fit before the end of the season.
A club statement confirmed:"The injury, a partial tear of the hamstring tendon at its origin close to the pubic bone, forced Joleon to drop out of last Sunday's game at Fulham at the last minute.
"After having his injury scanned on Monday, Joleon has had an injection and undergone ultrasound treatment as he starts the recovery process, with the hope being that he can play some part in the closing stages of the season."
