Holtby believes that Spurs can definitely compete with Europe’s best next season.
The German midfielder believes that the International break has come at the right time as Tottenham are in a current run of bad form after losing their last three games.
With a tough away trip to Swansea at the weekend, Holtby was asked if there was any concern about the narrowing gap and with last seasons collapse.
“No, we’re not scared, that’s the past. We are prepared.” Holtby told the Daily Mail.
“We don’t look at the table, just win our games and at the end we can watch and hope we are in the top four. We can definitely do it. We had 12 unbeaten league games and now we’ve had three disappointing ones.”
“These 12 days of International break are really good for us to clear everybody’s heads. There are still a lot of games to play and I think we have the right mentality and the right quality to play Champions League football next season.”
Holtby, a January signing from Schalke, could be a pivotal part in Tottenham’s remaining fixtures as they strive for a top four finish.
