Liverpool ace Tiago Ilori has completed a season-long loan switch to Aston Villa with the option to make the move permanent, according to reports from the Express.
The 22-year-old costed Villa about £1million as part of his deal, but could trigger a £6million to £9million clause to sign him permanently based on appearances.
He was expected to play a bigger role under manager Brendan Rodgers this term, but after suffering an injury during preseason, Joe Gomez looks to have instead capitalized on the opportunity to earn himself a regular place in the squad.
The defender will now have to compete for places with Villa skipper Micah Richards as well as deadline day arrival Joleon Lescott who recently signed from West Bromwich Albion.
Ilori joined the Reds from Sporting Lisbon back in 2013, but failed to make a single appearance for the senior team after spending his last two seasons on loan at Granada and most recently Bordeaux.
