Liverpool have reached an agreement with Celta Vigo over a permanent move for out-of-favour ace Iago Aspas, who will now join his former side, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 27-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan at Sevilla, where he picked up the Europa League title during his spell away from Anfield.
His performance for the La Liga side caught the attention of Celta manager Eduardo Berizzo, who was keen on bringing the forward back to the club.
He penned a one-year loan deal last week, but has now changed his mind in order to secure the move on a permanent basis, with the player having signed a five-year deal.
Aspas’ return to his boyhood team saw him greeted with open arms by club president, Carlos Mourino, who revealed his excitement with the player’s arrival.
“[This is] one of the most exciting arrivals of recent seasons,” he said.
He only made 14 appearances for the Reds since his arrival back in 2013, but has featured a total of 19 times on his loan spell in Spain this term, scoring three goals.
