Liverpool and Everton are said to be monitoring the situation of Braga star Rafa Silva ahead of a potential move to the Premier League, Metro reports.
The 21-year-old is currently tied down with a £19million release clause in his contract, but the two clubs are hoping an offer of around £7.5million can be enough to trigger a possible departure.
Other than the Merseyside pair, Southampton have also been linked with a move for the Portugal international during the January window, having attempted to lure him to the St Mary’s Stadium.
Ronald Koeman is believed to have made a previous offer to sign the midfielder in the summer, but the Portuguese club rejected the bid.
His form during the current campaign looks to have caught the eye of both Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez as they look to reinforce their squad at the end of the current campaign.
Silva has started all 20 of his team’s league matches so far this season, notching two league goals and adding another two in the Portuguese cup competition as well.
