Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton are set to go toe-to-toe for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland according to The Mirror, with the Premier League pair ready to launch £20 million bids for the 22-year-old.
The England international has become Joe Hart’s deputy at national level after getting his chance to play regularly at the Potters this season.
Butland turned down a move to Chelsea in the past, instead preferring to move to the Britannia Stadium – a move that seems to have paid dividends.
Asmir Begovic’s summer switch to Stamford Bridge over the summer has given Butland a chance to play every week, with the goalkeeper impressing in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool and Everton are both keen on landing the young Englishman, who is adjudged as one of the rising stars of the domestic game.
The Reds fans have had long-term doubts over Simon Mignolet, while the Toffees are on the look out for a successor to Tim Howard.
