Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have been boosted in their chase for Fiorentina star Josip Ilicic after he hinted that he could consider incoming offers, Express reports.
The 28-year-old was heavily tipped with a switch to the Premier League over the past few months, with Spurs even said to have been plotting a £5.5million bid during the previous summer window.
However, the Serie A outfits eventually managed to keep hold of their midfielder star as Tottenham missed out on his signature.
Both teams could now step up their chase for the Slovenia international at the end of the current campaign after he revealed that he could leave if a good offer is tabled.
“It’s normal to be associated with other teams when you play for so many years in the same club,” he said.
“If we were to get a good offer in the summer, I definitely would speak with my leadership.”
The Reds have been linked with a huge squad overhaul as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to mount a top four challenge next season.
Illicic has already featured 31 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score 14 goals while providing another six assists.
