Liverpool back in for £20million centre back

Liverpool are still keen on adding Jonas Hector to their squad this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Reds have been heavily linked with the German, who shone for the national team at Euro 2016. He played in all 6 games, and scored the winning penalty against Italy in the quarter-finals.

During pre-season, manager Jurgen Klopp has had to use James Milner as a makeshift left back, and has fresh concerns over the position with Alberto Moreno suffering a minor hamstring injury.

Both Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez could play at left-back, but the pair are sidelined due to injuries. And after missing out on Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell, who signed a new deal to stay with the Foxes, Klopp has identified Hector as the perfect man to come in to Anfield.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Hector could cost the Reds £20million, but with many fans growing frustrated at recent performances from Spaniard Moreno, it seems many spectators would be happy for the fee to be paid.
