Liverpool are interested in signing Celtic’s young left back Kieran Tierney, according to the Football Insider.
The 18-year-old has appeared 26 times in all competitions for the Scottish side this season and has established himself firmly in the first team.
Football Insider believe that the Reds are preparing a bid of between £5million and £10million for the Scottish international although he is one of a number of full back options that the Merseyside club are looking at.
Talking to Celtic TV, Tierney explained it has been a pivotal year for his footballing development. Interviewed after Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Dundee on Tuesday night, the club he made his debut against last season, he said: “It’s roughly a year so it was good to be back where I made my debut, but I’m disappointed with the result.
“I can never get my head round it, it’s been crazy, it’s been so fast. The stuff I’ve done and the games I have played in have been, it’s been crazy.”
Tierney made his debut for Scotland back in March against Denmark in a 1-0 victory playing in the first half and impressing Scotland manager Gordon Strachan before being replaced by Celtic team mate Charlie Mulgrew for the second half.
