Liverpool are currently in talks with Barcelona over a potential move to sign Manchester City target Marc Bartra, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 24-year-old had a £36million release clause tied to his deal, but due to his lack of appearances for the La Liga champions, the fee has been decreased to only £9million.
His new valuation has alerted a number of sides throughout Europe, with Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, and Borussia Dortmund also said to be interested.
The Reds are believed to be favourites with speculation suggesting that they’re already in talks with the Spanish club over the possibility of completing a switch.
Barca are not too keen on letting the centre-back leave, but due to his huge lack of playing time, Bartra may finally decide on a move elsewhere.
He started 11 La Liga matches during the season just gone and has made only 46 appearances in total following his introduction from the youth setup to the senior squad back in 2010.
