Liverpool have announced that they will back Brendan Rodgers for the upcoming campaign, but will need to see a big improvement, according to reports from the Mirror.
The Reds finished in second place the previous season, but have struggled to find their form this term, missing out on a Champions League spot.
It was believed that Rodgers would be able to lead his team to a top four spot after spending £120million on new players, but the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona and the injury to Daniel Sturridge halted their entire campaign.
Rodgers had his post-season review with the club board and after what was said to be productive talks, he was given another year to prove himself.
In addition to his stay, it is also said that he will be given financial backing in the upcoming window, with Manchester City’s James Milner, Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke, and Burnley’s Danny Ings, all top targets.
