Liverpool could be in line to sign Charlie Austin from Queens Park Rangers at the end of the season after he has decided to put his new £60,000-a-week contract talk on hold until the end of the season, Daily Mail reports.
The 25-year-old has had an impressive season so far, notching 13 goals as he is keen on helping his struggling side stay in the Premier League ahead of next season.
Harry Redknapp’s side is currently 19th in the league with only two points separating them from last place Leicester City after only being able to pick up 19 points from 21 games.
Austin was recently linked in The Mirror to both Liverpool and Tottenham as QPR were planning to offer him a new contract in order to ward off interest for their star striker.
However, the decision for the striker to wait until the end of the season means if Redknapp is unable to keep his team in the top flight, the English duo may make an offer to lure him to their respective sides.
