Liverpool have been boosted ahead of their Europa League clash with Borussia Dortmund after Ilkay Gundogan has been ruled out, Daily Star reports.
The 25-year-old picked up a foot injury during the 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich last month and is still sidelined heading into the fixture.
Gundogan will now miss the Europa League quarterfinal first-leg at home and is still a doubt for the return leg at Anfield next week.
The match will also mark the return of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to his former club where he spent a hugely successful seven years in charge.
With the club currently ninth on the Premier League table, Klopp knows that winning the Europa League could be the only way to ensure Champions League football next season.
Gundogan has been a key figure in midfield for the Bundesliga giants, already making 36 appearances in all competitions for his side this term, so far scoring three goals while providing another seven assists.
