Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he will play both Mamadou Sakho and Divock Origi in the upcoming match against Bordeaux, according to reports from the Express.
It is said that up to six first team players have been rested and left out of the travelling squad for their Europa League trip to France.
Rodgers is hoping to field a rotated selection in order to keep some of his stars fit for the Premier League match against Norwich City on Sunday.
He has confirmed that Sakho will feature tonight and has even hinted that a new contract to keep him at Anfield is already being considered, with Origi also in line to make an appearance.
“We were always going to need Mama after the international break. We want to extend his contract at the club and for sure he will play tomorrow night,” he said.
“Divock is a young player settling into the club well and he will feature tomorrow.”
Summer signings Christian Benteke, Nathaniel Clyne, as well as James Milner have all been rested, with Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel, and Lucas Leiva also left out of the travelling squad.
The Reds have begun their domestic campaign well under par, sitting 10th in the league after five games as a result of two wins, one draw, and two losses.
