Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Daniel Sturridge will return from injury in two weeks, Daily Star reports.
Sturridge has found it difficult to recover from an injury sustained while on international duty with England back in September, but Rodgers has claimed that the Reds striker is close to a full recovery and is set to feature after the turn of the year.
“[His return] will be just after the Christmas period.
“The first stage of his rehab was in Los Angeles, he’s gone to Boston and he will move on to a specialist facility there and hopefully in the early part of the New Year he will be back.
“Some point in January we will get him back and that will be really exciting for this team.”
The 25-year-old’s absence has seen Liverpool struggle to score goals, with summer signing Mario Balotelli still to get his name on the Premier League score-sheet.
