Liverpool boss doubts title chances

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers doesn’t feel his squad is in a position to win the Premier League this season, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The Reds battered Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield yesterday and they are now just five points behind the Gunners in second, with Chelsea one point further clear at the top.

Liverpool are unbeaten in six games and have the strike force of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez working wonders for them.

However Rodgers believes the squads of Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea are superior to his and that next season is more realistic of a title push than this.

‘You only need to look at our squad really, that can be an indication,’ said the Reds boss.

‘The objective has always been to finish as high as we can but you also have to look at the other teams around you. You only have to look at what Arsenal had on the bench today.

‘I want to be in a position where we can really challenge for the title here and the players have been incredible – we just hope to continue with that development and see where it takes us.
