Liverpool boss to be given funds to make bid for Bayern star

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been given the green light to spend in the summer transfer market after their Capital One Cup final loss, with Mario Gotze and Piotr Zielinski possible targets, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Klopp was appointed as the Reds boss after the club sacked Brendan Rodgers back in October, with the German only having the January transfer window to strengthen the squad.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund manager only brought in Steven Caulker on loan, meanwhile also securing deals for Marko Grujic and Joel Matip who will both arrive in the summer.

But they will not be his only additions, with the Liverpool hierarchy set to give him some significant funds to spend at the end of the campaign.

With Christian Benteke, Joe Allen, and Kolo Toure likely to depart, there will be room in the first-team and Klopp is eyeing bids for Bayern attacking midfielder Gotze and Poland international Zielinski, who plies his trade with Empoli.
