Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers could be looking to rest Christian Benteke from the squad travelling to face Bordeaux in the Europa League tomorrow, Mirror reports.
The 24-year-old is likely to be dropped by his manager in order to be in full condition to play Norwich City in the Premier League at the weekend.
It is believed that Rodgers doesn’t want to risk injury to the Belgium international and could instead call up Divock Origi to take his place up top.
However, the upcoming fixture could mark the return for both Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho as a rotated Reds squad could be used.
Lallana was out of action for the past month due to a thigh injury while Coutinho will be back from a suspension which saw him miss the 3-1 defeat to rivals Manchester United at the weekend.
Adam Bogdan, who completed a free transfer to Anfield in the summer, could also be given his debut between the sticks after revealing that he was ready to feature.
“Yeah, I’ll be ready whenever I’m asked to play,” he said.
“We’ve been working hard these last few weeks.
“I’m gaining confidence from that and looking forward to playing my first competitive game.”
