Liverpool have completed the loan signing of Queens Park Rangers ace Steven Caulker on loan until the end of the season, according to reports from the BBC.
Caulker has spent the last six months on loan with Southampton, but his struggles for regular playing time has seen the Saints cancel the agreement, allowing him to join the Reds this week.
The Merseyside club have been plagued with injuries midway through the season, with no less than 13 players sidelined with respective problems.
But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s biggest concern is at the back, as the likes of Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren are still unavailable, while Mamadou Sakho is not yet 100% due to a knee injury.
And Klopp revealed his delight with the capture of Caulker, as he sees the Englishman as the best solution to his current problem.
He said: “We want to press the opponent and so they have to play long balls.
“If they play long balls, you need people in the last line who can help you with headers and we’ve found it with Steven Caulker.”
Caulker, 24, could be thrust straight into the lineup for the visit of league leaders Arsenal this Wednesday.
