Liverpool are considering a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Jose Hart, with the Englishman unsure of his future due to the club’s lack of activity over a new contract, Metro reports.
Although there are still two years left on his current deal, the City number-one expected to begin negotiations earlier after several of his team-mates concluded their contracts over the summer.
The England international confessed his fears that the club may be looking to replace him after not hearing anything about an extension.
“Anything about a new contract is news to me,” Hart said.
“I’ve heard nothing. I’ve got a year, nearly two years, left on my deal. That is all I am aware of.”
His availability will be alerting several of Europe’s top clubs, but it is Liverpool who could be the fore-runner after first-choice stopper Simon Mignolet has been inconsistent after being purchased from Sunderland last summer.
Brendan Rodgers has already gone into to market in an attempt to sign Spain international Victor Valdes, who is currently a free agent after playing out his Barcelona contract.
