Liverpool are considering a move for Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi, according to reports from the Metro.
However, no move came to fruition as Inter were keen on holding to one of Serie A’s deadliest finishers last season, with the 22-year-old tied with Luca Toni on 22 league goals the previous term.
Yet it has not gone as well for the Argentina international in the current campaign, and manager Roberto Mancini has already dropped him on several occasions, with his latest being their 1-0 victory over Roma this past weekend.
And while Chelsea and United will be alerted by his potential availability, Italian source Calcio Mercato reports that Liverpool have entered the race for his signature, with manager Jurgen Klopp keen on bringing in a quality striker while Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings recover from their respective injuries.
Last term, Icardi scored 27 goals in all competitions for the Nerazzurri.
