Liverpool have a joined a number of sides in pursuit of Stoke City star Steven N’Zonzi, according to reports from the Express.
The 26-year-old has been a key performer for manager Mark Hughes over the course of the season, attracting interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur as well.
With N’Zonzi learning about interest from other teams, the midfielder looks to have put talks of a new contract on hold as he is now keeping his options open.
However, Stoke’s chief executive, Tony Scholes, has come out to reassure the fans that the club is positive on concluding a new deal for the Frenchman.
“If his football’s anything to go by, then it absolutely is reason to be positive we can get something done,” he said.
“He had a magnificent season last year – in fact he’s had three very good seasons with us, even if perhaps the last was his best.
“He’s playing with a smile on his face. He looks very happy and we would very much like to renew his contract.”
All three mentioned sides have been linked with a move for a new midfielder in recent months and have now made the Potters anchorman one of their potential targets.
The Reds are currently in the market to find a replacement for Steven Gerrard, who will join MLS side LA Galaxy when the transfer window opens next month.
